Simple Pleasures in life.......

.......... What is it about the simple things in life?  Who doesn't get the smallest thrill from being the person that punches through the foil that covers the new jar of coffee - that heady aroma of pure coffee-ness!  Or watching the new flowers in the vase start to uncurl their leaves, blooming from tight buds into full open bloomed flowers?

We are really lucky where we are, right on the edge of Ancient Epping forest.  this time of the year, the trees are shedding their leaves by the wheelbarrow load.  Today, there is a low lying mist which the winter sun is finally given up trying to burn off, the trees are looking magnificent (if a little bare) stretching up to the sky.  Birds are attacking our holly bushes eating as many berries as they can stuff into their mouths and the whole area has that winter smell.

Sometimes I can get quite lost just looking at the beauty of the natural world.  The abundance which is surrounding us, the richness of life which so often we are too busy to stop and see.  This morning, as I was watching our dogs (who have all recovered fully from kennel cough) wander around the garden, I realised that each time I get lost in my own little world, I am in fact entering into a state of meditation, just being totally in the moment!  I think I am going to call these moments, power meditations.  A little like power naps, totally refreshing for the soul and spirit, totally beneficial for the mind.

Just think of this the next time you are opening up that fresh package of coffee, that time when you take that first sniff, the aroma of the bean enters into your nose, the emotions associated with the smell of coffee take over.  At this exact moment in time, you are living "In the moment".  Not thinking about the future, not thinking about the past, just being.

Live in the moment, be happy, be abundant!

A Magical Weekend

I just wanted to share what a magical weekend we have had here in Teaching Therapies world.  It started on Friday night (as most weekends do) we had a Reiki share planned, with many attendees, who one by one for their own reasons could not attend.  We ended up with one lady coming for the Reiki Share.

It soon became apparent that we needed this one to one time with her as she is now joining the Teaching Therapies Team.  More details will appear in our !Teaching!Therapies!Talks! newsletter in December.

On Saturday we ran an amazing Physical Mediumship workshop.  We were very fortunate to have captured some amazing shots of table tipping on film which I am currently going through and hoping to get a good enough quality to post onto our new You Tube page.

As you know from us and from previous posts, "My Name is David and I am addicted to Social Networking!"

With all jokes aside, I am convinced that Social Networking is really a great way to keep people updated and aware of the great work that many people do with holistic health, healing and spirit.  With this in mind, if you would like to send your spiritual articles or thoughts to teachtherapies@aol.com I will happily feature them on this blog.

On Sunday we had a house cleansing and spirit detachment in South East London, which was amazing, something which I absolutely love doing!

Today was also special, during a mediumship 1-2-1 lesson, we managed to help an earthbound spirit cross into the light.  All in all, this (long) weekend has been AMAZING!

Until next time, be happy, embrace abundance!

PS:  I found this earlier, it made me laugh so I thought I would share

Has it been a waste of a morning?

Being a total lover of Facebook and Twitter, I have to say I have tried to incorporate Teaching Therapies into the social network world.  I think to a certain degree that we have done this well, and most if not all of our events, special deals and news gets posted with on our facebook page or through my Twitter account.  I have to say that I did mess up a little when I tried to merge my Twitter with Teaching Therapies Twitter and deleted the Teaching Therapies Account!

So this morning I have been trying to incorporate something onto the Teaching Therapies home page which allows you to like and see what is happening on the Teaching Therapies Page.  I am sure, it will change position on the page, change its colour, shape and size but I think it now looks OK!  If you get a chance take a look and let me know what you think!

Tonight we have our popular Reiki Share which Glen and I really look forward to running.  Its a great time for people who are all Reiki minded to get together share treatments and socialise!  If you ever fancy coming along to a Reiki Share, please let me know by calling us on 020 8508 1524!

Until the next post, be happy, be abundant

Healing, Meditation & Lots and Lots of HONEY!!

So we have been told to keep the dogs calm, warm and dry to help them get over the bout of kennel cough they have contracted.  Looking out of our window right now, to the grey murky skies of Essex and the rain on the window, I am not sure how we will keep them dry, and looking at these photos of them, how to keep 3 mad dogs calm??????  I am pleased to report that Benji (the one with the tennis ball)

is not coughing, but Bosley (top picture) is still hacking like an old man who smokes too many cigarettes!!  Piper, (the one below)

may look vicious in this photo, but she is such a sweetheart!  She has been coughing a little, but it seems to be only when Bosley has a cough so we are thinking that maybe she is just imitating him and looking for a little extra sympathy!

All three of them have been getting regular doses of honey on their food, and extra cuddle time!!  Its during this cuddle time that we have been making sure they get an extra Reiki boost to assist their healing.  Hopefully by the end of this week they will have all recovered and be back to normal!

Tonight I am so looking forward to another 1-2-1 meditation class.  I have a client coming who is new to meditation and has been encouraged by her work place to investigate natural and alternative healing methods! Amazingly her company are reimbursing her costs for the lessons she is taking.  Meditation provides a great boost to your health and well being.  I am sure you know we have The Zone which has meditations for you to try, but don't forget if you want to try meditation and need a little guidance, come along to one of our meditation evenings or book yourself in for a 1-2-1 meditation session.  Details can be found on our website.

Now, time for me to go and feed the dog's some more honey, keep safe, keep warm, be happy and abundant in all you do.

So.......

....... as I am setting up this new blog, I have a very unique background sound playing.  While we were in California we sent our dogs to the kennels we use all the time.  Unfortunately for us, and them, another dog decided to share with them Kennel Cough!  This, my friends, is what I am "listening to" right now.

Make your day count, be abundant and blessed

Ok so I think I am getting a little addicted............

......... To social networking sites, and blogs.  This being the 3rd blog I have started in as many months.  The others are still going strong, we have The Zone which is Teaching Therapies Meditation blog, and The Crystal Zone, for advice and information on Crystals.

This blog is really so I can get out of my head (and into yours) all the thoughts and emotions that come with being a healing practitioner.  I was going to try and keep a theme and call this the Healing Zone, but decided Teaching Therapies would make a better title!

So like always, as I am setting up the blog, I have all these fancy shmancy ideas of what important spiritual knowledge I am going to share with you and my mind now decided to enter into a medative state and be blank! (Oh where is the chattering Monkey when you need him!)

"Oh here he is!!"

I think this post is really happening because I have suddenly found myself with an extra hour to spare!  Yes the client booked in for 7pm meditation 1-2-1 decided not to show, and not to call to let me know either.

It can be a common problem for people who run their business from home like this, so I just thought I would ask, please, next time you book an appointment with anyone, then realise you can't make it, please let them know!

So with that off my chest, I am going to count my blessings as Glen will be finished his tutoring in about 5 minutes and it means we can talk business and what lies in store for Teaching Therapies in 2011.

Make your evening count, be happy, be abundant!
